What's up with Sean?
This is my attempt to inject some political reason into the mix after viewing or listening to TV and radio broadcasts made by Sean Hannity, a conservative political analyst and pundit on the Fox News Channel and ABC News Radio, respectively.
Sean was talking today about Dick Durbin's remarks concerning the alleged mistreatment of the Guantanamo Bay detainees.
My thoughts: I think that Dick Durbin is using this non-issue as a Bush-bashing maneuver. He, along with many of the left-leaners, must have never viewed the horrific beheading of Mr. Nick Berg. When I saw this video, I didn't care WHAT our guys did to them. Defecate on their faces for all I care. He must have forgotten the gut-wrenching sight of people jumping out of the twin towers after the jihadists attacked us. He apparently does not understand the complete depravity of those who are housed in Gitmo.
These detainees are not mere criminals like a car thief in Brooklyn. They are TERRORISTS who have been caught in the act of killing our soldiers, killing innocent civilians, laying out roadside bombs, protecting other terrorists, etc.
They do NOT deserve the American legal system. They are NOT Americans. We are NOT bound by the Geneva Convention. They are NOT members of a national military entity recognized by the community of nations. These are subhumans who target the innocent.
The likes of Senator Durbin have compared the treatment of these detainees to Hitleristic methods and other historical atrocities. There is a huge difference between our side and their side. Our side protects and defends the innocent. Their side targets the innocent. Our side feeds those who are less fortunate, providing medical treatment when necessary. Their side is not concerned for the hungry and sick, but simply wants to spread their religion of hatred and violence to all the world, killing those who they consider to be infidels.
Sean, tell Senator Durbin that HE is out of the mainstream of American thought and he needs to view a refresher video of the downing of the towers and the murder of Mr. Berg.
I wonder what Durbin would do if these Islamic extremists were to directly target one of HIS family members? What would he tolerate in treatment then? Would rap music or cold air conditioning or extreme heat be too much then? It may have not affected you directly, Senator Durbin, but it HAS affected some of your fellow Americans directly.
